Turkmen border checkpoints are operating 24/7 and have already received more than 2,000 people. The evacuees include nationals of Central Asian states, Russia, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, the United Kingdom and other countries.
Nearly 50 countries have approached Turkmenistan for assistance in facilitating the transit of their citizens departing from neighboring Iran, as reported by Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry on Saturday.
The government of Turkmenistan is implementing necessary measures to ensure the safe and continuous passage of foreign nationals. The evacuation process utilizes both land corridors and the International Airport in Ashgabat to support their return home.
This work is being conducted in cooperation with diplomatic missions of foreign states accredited in Ashgabat.
